New Delhi: Actor Manoj Bajpayee has an impressive body of work not just in Bollywood but also in OTT with series and films like ‘The Family Man’, ‘Gulmohar’ and ‘Sirf Ek Bandaa Kaafi Hai’. With the kind of work he has done in OTT, one may assume that he might have been paid highly for ‘The Family Man’, but the actor shared that is not the case. He admitted that his fees for the show did not match any big star.

While speaking to Samdish for his YouTube channel, ‘Unfiltered by Samdish’, the  actor said that it isn’t possible to be rich by doing films like ‘Bhosle’ and ‘Gali Guleiyan.’ When asked if he gets a ‘Salman Khan or Shah Rukh Khan-type fees’ for The Family Man, he said, “Yeh OTT wale regular producer se kam nahi hai (OTT platforms are just as bad as regular producers). They will pay big stars. I did not get the kind of money I should have for The Family Man. Gora aayega, show karega toh de denge (If a white actor does the show, they will pay). Brands have factories in China because there is cheap labour. Similarly, I am the cheap labour here. They will give a lot of money if Jack Ryan comes and does the role.”

Manoj’s show ‘The Family Man’, was in the IMDbs 50 all-time most popular Indian web series. The show is among top five with ‘Sacred Games’, ‘Mirzapur’ and more.

Manoj’s upcoming film 'Joram' will be screened at the Durban International Film Festival which will be held from July 20 to July 30. The film has been directed by Devashish Makhija and marks his third collaboration with Manoj Bajpayee.

The film, which also stars Mohammed Zeeshan Ayyub, Smita Tambe, and Megha Mathur in pivotal roles, and Tannishtha Chatterjee and Rajshri Deshpande in special appearances, is a hard-hitting psychological thriller about a displaced man who is on the run to protect his daughter.
