The second season of 'The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power' has been released on Amazon Prime Video, and in an exclusive conversation with ABP Entertainment Live in Singapore, the series creators and actors discussed the show’s unique aspects and their connections to India. Notably, the names of Bollywood stars Hrithik Roshan and Priyanka Chopra came up during the conversation.

What creator J.D.Payne said about the series

When J.D. Payne, the creator of the series, was asked why he chose three women directors to helm the project, he explained, "We conducted several interviews, but Charlotte, Sanaa, and Louise stood out as the most creative directors. Each one of them brings a distinct energy to the table. Louise is full of fun, energy, and creativity. Sanaa is very specific and knows exactly what she wants to achieve. Charlotte is an experienced director who worked on two significant episodes in Season 1, and we were thrilled to have her direct four episodes in Season 2 as well as serve as the producer-director for the season. Our collaboration with these talented filmmakers was incredibly rewarding, and they have formed a strong community after working together for such a long time."

Actors share their experience

Markella Kavenagh and Megan Richards, who play key roles in the series, were also asked about their experience working on the show. Markella shared, "I really loved my look. I think it’s a fantastic character—quite messy. The costume and makeup are amazing and really help in getting into the character, which is how characters like Nori and Poppy come to life. I enjoyed playing a character that could undergo transformation."

Megan Richards added that it took her three hours to get ready for her role. She said, "I think it’s quite an experience when you feel like your character is brought to life after spending three hours in preparation. You don’t get the chance to transform like that every day, so it was a lot of fun experiencing this character."

J.D. Payne also discussed the significance of writing in such a large-scale show, saying, "I believe everything starts with the script. Without a script, you have no roadmap; it’s like being lost at sea without knowing which direction to travel. You need a plan and a story that’s worth telling."

When asked what she would do if she had a power ring, Megan Richards replied, "I would love to be able to speak every language. It would be so helpful for me. I envy people who can speak multiple languages."

On Favourite Bollywood Actors

J.D. Payne revealed that his favourite Indian actor is Hrithik Roshan, whom he met in Mumbai. Megan Richards mentioned that her favourite Indian actress is Priyanka Chopra.

Three episodes of 'The Rings of Power' have already been released on Prime Video, and they have been well-received by audiences.
