Jogi( renunciate) stars Punjabi singer and actor Diljit Dosanjh. Shot amidst the backdrop of the 1984 anti-Sikh riots in Delhi, the film revolves around the story of Joginder Singh( Jogi) and his desparate attempt to save his community from the mass massacre that followed during the time in 1984. 


2. Lakreean


A Punjabi film that has a high dose of emotional drama, the film revolves around love and friendship.,'Lakeeran' received a positive response from both critics and fans alike. The film features Harma Virk( ex-pat) who is haunted by his role involving a car accident. He is married to a young woman, who is also dealing with the trauma of her past. The two try to move forward by taking some difficult decisions. 


3. Bhaji in Problem


Bhaji in Problem( translates to Brother in Problem) belongs to the most popular genre from the Punjabi film industry: comedies. The film stars Gippy Grewal and Gurpreet Ghuggi and revolves around a man married to two women, both of whom are unaware of each other, until an old friend enters his life and brings havoc in it. 


4. Qismat


Written and directed by Jagdep Sidhu, 'Qismat' stars Ammy Virk, Sargun Mehta and Gagu Gill. 'Qismat' has an IMDb rating of 8.1 and is one of the most popular and loved Punjabi films of all time.


5. Jatt James Bond


This Punjabi thriller directed by Rohit Jugraj has some high-octane action scenes, dramatic plot and catchy Punjabi music. The film was not only positively received by audiences but also critics. 


The film follows the story of James Bond( Gippy Grewal), who is in love with Lal( Zareen Khan).


6. Honeymoon


Again a Gippy Grewal-starrer, 'Honeymoon' is a laugh riot about a newlywed couple's honeymoon in London when the pair's family crashes their romantic getaway not knowing what a 'honeymoon' is all about. 


7. Faraar


Directed by Baljit Singh Deo, 'Faraar' stars Gippy Grewal and Kainaat Arora. The film is about a man who gets caught up in a mobster-drama. This Punjabi action film is a diversion from the regular dose of comedies that the Punjbai film industry often churns.
