Netizens Question Shah Rukh Khan For Facial Gesture On The Mortal Remains Of Lata Mangeshkar, Here's The Truth

Shah Rukh Khan was observed making dua in front of Lata Mangeshkar's mortal remains. But then he removed his mask and made a gesture that spectators mistook for "spitting."

New Delhi: Legendary singer Lata Mangeshkar passed away on February 6 at the age of 92. Eminent personalities and popular celebrities including Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Shah Rukh Khan and Sachin Tendulkar attended the last rites.

The veteran singer's last rites took place at Shivaji Park in Mumbai, where she was cremated with full state honours. While everyone paid their last respects to the mortal remains of the singer, actor Shah Rukh Khan is being questioned for removing his mask after making dua and doing a facial gesture, that netizens misinterpreted as "spitting."

In the viral video, Khan is seen lifting his hands for making duaa while his manager, Pooja Dadlani folded her hands in respect of the famed singer. Khan also showed his respect by bowing down and touching Lata's dead body.

While many netizens appreciated the actor's gesture of making a duaa for the late singer, some were quick enough to bring him under the radar and question him for removing his mask and blowing out air on the singer's body.

When a heated debate arose on Twitter about whether Shah Rukh spit on Lata's body or not, several people pointed out that he blew on it to fend off evil spirits. 

Shah Rukh read the duaa and conducted a Muslim rite in a pious manner. Some fans have properly stated it on Twitter.

The latest person to come in the actor's defence is politician and singer Babul Supriyo, who reacted to a tweet by BJP IT-cell in-charge Arun Yadav. Supriyo stated that he feels ashamed to have been associated once with the same party that now has members like Arun Yadav.

Replying to Arun Yadav's tweet, who questioned Shah Rukh's gesture of blowing air as spitting, Supriyo wrote, "Feel utterly ashamed that I once served & fought for the same party that you belong to now."

He further continued, "U guys don't think twice(Actually, do u guys even hv the power to 'think') or find what's the truth b4 defaming A Man who is who he is by sheer hard work. Shame on u."
