A PAN card is required for all financial activities. Whether you want to do your bank work or office work, you need a PAN card.


Hence you need to use the PAN card properly, else you may be fined heavily.


Link your PAN card by March 31


Let us tell you that in today's time, it has become necessary to link the PAN card with Aadhaar. Earlier, the last date to link it was September 30, 2021, which has been extended to March 31, 2022, so you should link your PAN with Aadhaar.


You may have to pay a fine


Apart from this, if you make any kind of mistake related to a PAN card, then you may have to pay a fine of Rs 10,000. If you are entering the PAN number somewhere, you should fill this number with caution as you may have to pay a penalty if you make a spelling mistake. 


You may have to pay a penalty if you have 2 PAN cards


Apart from this, even if you have 2 PAN cards, you may have to pay a fine of Rs 10,000. Along with this, your bank account may also be frozen. If you have 2 PAN cards, it is advisable to surrender one PAN card immediately. There is a provision for this in section 272B of the Income Tax Department Act 1961.

  • For this, you will first have to go to the official website https://www.pan.utiitsl.com/

  • Here, click on 'Request For New Pan Card/ And Changes Or Correction in PAN Data'

  • Now you have to download the form.

  • After this, the form has to be filled and submitted to the NSDL office.

  • While surrendering the PAN card, you are required to carry both the PAN cards and the form.
