Mumbai: Actress Neena Gupta, on Monday, released her autobiography ‘Sach Kahoon Toh: Meri Aatmkatha’, in which she spilled the beans about both her personal and professional life. The ‘Badhaai Ho’ actress who has come a long way in her life, disclosed some of the untold tales of her professional life and how she survived in the film industry.
In her autobiography, Neena Gupta brought to light her experience of casting couch in the film industry. The ‘Panga’ actress revealed that a renowned producer from the South assumed that she will be spending the night with him.

Neena Gupta shared in her autobiography that she had to meet the producer at a hotel. According to a report of Times Of India, the actress decided to meet the producer after one of her performance in Prithvi theatre. When she called the producer from the phone lobby, he asked Neena to go up to his room. Gupta told, “My basic instinct told me to not go upstairs. That I should ask him to come down to the lobby instead.”
The report further added that afraid of losing an opportunity, Neena decided to give it a go and went to meet the producer upstairs. She remembers how the producer asked her to sit on the couch and started talking about how he launched several heroines in the South film industry. However, when Neena asked him about her role, the producer said that it was the role of ‘heroine’s friend’. Unsatisfied with her role, when Neena Gupta decided to go, the producer said, “Go? Where?”. He continued, “Aren't you going to spend the night here?” This sentence made Neena horrified as she wrote, “Suddenly, I felt like someone had just poured a bucket of ice water on my head. Khoon sookh gaya (My blood froze).”
The ‘Sardar Ka Grandson’ actress further revealed that the producer then took her bag and told Neena that if she can leave if she wanted to and no one is forcing her. Neena then ran out of the room.
Neena Gupta will be next seen starring in ‘83’, ‘Dial 100’ and ‘Gwalior’.
