The National Commission for Women chairperson has asked Twitter to immediately block actor Siddharth's tweet on national shuttler Saina Nehwal, while referring to it as "misogynist and outrageous." The NCW chairperson has also written to DGP, Maharashtra to register FIR against the actor under relevent provisions of the law and to investigate in the matter.
Calling it extremely inappropriate, the NCW saught strict action against the actor for using indecent language for women on social media. The commision also issued a press release regarding the same.
Meanwhile,Siddharth has responded to the criticism, saying that nothing derogatory was meant. "'COCK & BULL' That's the reference. Reading otherwise is unfair and leading! Nothing disrespectful was intended, said or insinuated. Period (sic)," he tweeted.
On January 5, in reference to PM Narendra Modi's convoy's security breach in Punjab's Ferozepur, Nehwal had tweeted to condemn the act calling it a ‘cowardly attack on PM by anarchists.’
