Zwigato Shows Little Growth At Box Office, Rani Mukerji's Mrs. Chatterjee Vs. Norway Doubles The Collection
'Zwigato' saw a slight increase from its low opening weekend gross.
New Delhi: The movie 'Zwigato', starring Kapil Sharma and Shahana Goswami, continued to perform poorly on Saturday even though it saw a slight increase from its low opening weekend gross of about Rs 43 lakhs.
After two days of release, the social drama helmed by actor-director Nandita Das has earned Rs 1.05 crore. The movie centres on a food delivery man's hardships in the gig economy. Taran Adarsh, a film trade analyst, tweeted on Sunday about the movie's second-day earnings.
“Zwigato witnesses an upward trend on day 2 [+44.19 percent], but the 2-day total remains very low due to its biz on day 1… Biz (business) needs to have a miraculous turnaround/jump on day 3 for a respectable weekend total… Friday ₹43 lakh, Saturday ₹62 lakh. Total: ₹1.05 crore. India biz,” he wrote.

The ABP Live review of the film read: "Zwigato', is based on the alarming reality of the 'new India', where an aerial perspective of the country reveals immense opportunities just waiting to be seized. But, the closer you get, the more of India's dark underbelly is exposed, which still burns itself alive rather than surviving for days on nothing but air. Hunger is presumably what engulfs them alive; setting one on fire is just the final act."
Meanwhile, 'Mrs. Chatterjee Vs Norway', which also premiered on March 17, stars Rani Mukherji. Its second day of revenues saw a 78% increase in total bookings, bringing the film's total to 2.26 crore net.
"#MrsChatterjeeVsNorway witnesses SOLID GROWTH on Day 2 [+77.95%]… The super-strong word of mouth should translate into higher footfalls on Day 3… National chains dominate the show [Day 1: 83 lacs, Day 2: 1.58 cr]… Fri 1.27 cr, Sat 2.26 cr. Total: ₹ 3.53 cr. #India biz," Taran Adarsh shared on Twitter.
