New Delhi: Bollywood had a challenging year in 2022, which is about to come to an end. However, a few actors continued to garner attention for their performances even while movies were underperforming at the box office. This year, South Indian films—with a few exceptions from Hindi films—have dominated the box office.

1. NTR Jr and Ram Charan in RRR

With their outstanding performance as in SS Rajamouli's landmark film 'RRR', the two celebrities astounded audiences around the world. The a ctors immediately had the crowd cheering and whistling in the aisles throughout their dramatic introduction moment. Ram Charan and NTR garnered a tonne of praise and adoration from individuals all over the globe.

2. Kartik Aaryan in Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2

Following the pandemic, one of the actors who helped draw audiences back to theatres was Kartik Aaryan. One of the biggest highlights of 2022 was the actor's comedic performance in the blockbuster horror comedy 'Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2', which also starred Tabu and Kiara Advani. The actor is certain to work his magic once more soon with films like 'Shehzada' and 'Satyaprem Ki Katha' in the works.

3. Yash in KGF

As Rocky Bhai in 'K.G.F: Chapter 2', the Kannada superstar blazed up the screen. The eagerly anticipated 'KGF' saga sequel was a complete hit and ended up becoming the highest-grossing Indian movie of 2022. Fans can be sure that his upcoming project will be as spectacular and groundbreaking as 'KGF' even if he hasn't yet made it official.

4. Rishab Shetty in Kantara

Kantara, the year's top-grossing film, marked the breakthrough of the actor, writer, and director. The action drama in Kannada was a hit both domestically and abroad because it combined myth, folklore, and tribal issues. Rishab dazzled the crowd with his incredible versatility and commanding on-screen presence. Rishab has a slew of projects planned, including 'Bell Bottom 2'.

5. Ranbir Kapoor in Brahmastra

'Brahmstra: Part One - Shiva', starring Ranbir Kapoor, offered much-needed joy to fans during a time when Hindi movies struggled at the box office. Ranbir played Shiva, a young DJ with supernatural abilities who is connected to the world of celestial astras, in this epic superhero fantasy drama. The movie, which premiered in September, ended up becoming the most successful Hindi release of 2022. Ranbir also has Sandeep Reddy Vanga's 'Animal' and Luv Ranjan's next directorial on the cards in addition to the widely anticipated Part Two of 'Brahmastra'.
