Wow! Udta Punjab BREAKS Salman's 'PRDP' RECORD; Music rights sold for a whooping 18 crores!

Shahid Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, Kareena Kapoor Khan and Diljeet Dosanjh's ''Udta Punjab'' has made a new record by leaving Salman Khan and his Prem Ratan Dhan Payo way behind. Udta Punjab's music rights have been sold at a breathtaking price!

As per the reports on Midday, Abhishek Chaubey's crime thriller 'Udta Punjab' has set a new record by thrashing Prem Ratan Dhan Payo behind. The movie's music rights have been sold for a whooping amount of 18 crores! Earlier the record was held by Salman's PRDP whose music rights were sold for 17 crores!

As per the sources,  "This makes it the biggest music deal in the history of Bollywood. The last time we heard of a record-setting contract was for 'Prem Ratan Dhan Payo', which is a crore less than this one. The 'Udta Punjab' album has a new age Punjabi vibe to it and the makers hope to strike a chord with music lovers."

The source added, '' The first song of 'Udta Punjab' was released yesterday; it is picturised on Shahid, who looks every bit of a whacky, drug-addict. The film's spokesperson confirms about the multi-crore deal being cracked.'' Udta Punjab is garnering psoitive response for its trailer as well as the first song which has some swag to it! The movie is slated for a July 17, 2016 release. The actors are being already praised for their portrayal of characters on screen.
