The Indian Air Force pilot Abhinandan Varthaman who was captured by Pakistani army on Wednesday, will now be released on Friday as Pak Prime Minister Imran Khan announces it in the parliament on Thursday. While addressing a joint session of the Parliament on Thursday, Pak PM Imran Khan said - "We have an Indian pilot. As a peace gesture, we will release him tomorrow."


We showed you how the Bollywood celebrities came out to celebrate the homecoming of Abhinandan along with the rest of the country posting tweets in his welcome. Taapsee Pannu's touching tweet read: "Now this really brought smile to my face !!! Waiting for tomorrow ..... with bated breath".

While the countrymen of India and Pakistan have been warring on the social media spreading messages defending their nations, the celebrities have largely been responsible in their tweets and asking fans to maintain peace, leaving some like Veena Malik.

Ali Zafar: "What a gesture ! So proud of our country, it’s armed forces and its people. The world should stand a witness to the new mindset in Pakistan. That of PEACE which can prove to be the most substantial asset in bringing much awaited stability and progress in the region."


Shoaib Akhtar: "Indian Airforce Pilot Abhinandan will be freed tomorrow as a gesture of peace" Announced by Prime Minister in the National Assembly. "

And while the Pak celebs hailed their PM's "peace gesture", Veena Malik touches a new low with her tweet she posted right after her Prime Minster's annoucement. Taking a dig at Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, she wrote: "The difference between a chaiwala and an Oxford graduate ".


Abhinandan, flying a MiG -21 Bison fighter plane, was chasing Pakistani jets which transgressed into Jammu and Kashmir yesterday and crossed over to PoK where his aircraft was shot down. He ejected safely and was taken to the custody by Pakistani Army.

Now country awaits the safe return of it's soldier back on the Indian soil.
