New Delhi: Salman Khan has long been known for delaying marriage. Now a clip from an old interview he gave in the 1990s has surfaced, and in it, he confesses to having once asked actor Juhi Chawla's father for his daughter's hand in marriage. But sadly, Salman was rejected by her father, who never truly explained why he had been passed over. In 1995, Jay Mehta, a businessman, and Juhi got married.
An older interview of Salman was published on Twitter with the description "This Salman Khan (red heart emojis)." Salman appears in the video sporting a printed blue polo shirt paired with jeans and a hat.
He states, "Juhi is very sweet. Adorable girl. I toh asked her father if he would let her get married to me." The interviewer asks him, "You asked him? What did he say?" Salman frowns and says, "No." When the interviewer asked why, Salman replied, "Don't fit the bill I guess."
The actor is really soft-spoken in the video. Fans questioned the identity of the female he was referring to in comments on the video clip on Twitter. One Twitter user said, "Heartbreak moment (broken heart emoji)." While another stated, "..and he didn't marry anyone thereafter. Such an obedient child."
Salman Khan and Juhi Chawla shared screen space only in David Dhawan's comedy film 'Deewana Mastana' that starred Govinda and Anil Kapoor in the lead. Juhi Chawla and husband Jay Mehta are parents to two: their daughter Jhanvi and son, Arjun.
Juhi Chawla was last seen in the web-series 'Hush Hush' that also starred Kritika Kamra, Ayesha Jhulka, Karishma Tanna and Soha Ali Khan.
Salman Khan was last seen in a cameo in Shah Rukh Khan starrer 'Pathaan'. The actor is all set for his big Eid release this year with his ensemble cast family drama 'Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan'.
