New Delhi: Remember 'Kabir Singh' and the blockbuster it became. Directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga, the Hindi remake of Arjun Reddy starring Shahid Kapoor and Kiara Advani was the centre of controversy around violence, misogyny and charges of unruly behaviour by a male protagonist in a film propagated by the likes of actors who portray such roles. At the time, Sandeep Reddy Vanga defended his film vigorously in several interviews.

In an interview with film critic Anupama Chopra, Sandeep Reddy Vanga had spoken about not finding an emotion when a man cannot ‘touch, slap or use cuss words’ for his woman.

Sandeep Reddy Vanga had also bashed critics right, left and centre for not supporting his film v/s supporting a film like 'Sanju' which also had several problematic parts in it.

He had also added that in the light of charges of ‘violence’ being levelled by a section of critics and audiences, he promised to make an even more ‘violent film’.

Now, that seems to be fulfilled with Vanga’s latest release ‘Animal’. Fans have been trending the old interview of Sandeep Reddy Vanga alongwith snips from the Ranbir Kapoor film.

Many fans are glorifying ‘Animal', calling it ‘their kind of film’,’the peak of action films of 2023’.

Fans are also appreciating Ranbir Kapoor’s performance in ‘Animal’.

As for the action and violence, many are ringing home the fact that Vanga had promised the same in the interview and has now given the same.
