The trailer for the upcoming movie 'Govinda Naam Mera', which stars Vicky Kaushal, Bhumi Pednekar, and Kiara Advani in the lead roles, was unveiled by the makers today. The movie, in which Vicky plays an aspiring choreographer, is a crime comedy with a twisted love and betrayal story. The trailer suggests that the movie is a pure masala entertainer with a touch of humour.
The 'Govinda Mera Naam' trailer begins with Govinda (Vicky Kaushal) staring in awe as a sultry Kiara Advani approaches him wearing a yellow saree. But it turns out that this is just a dream, and Govinda wakes up to his wife Gauri (Bhumi Pednekar) kicking him.
Gauri and Govinda, who wish to leave their unhappy marriage, are trapped in it. When an irritated Govinda demands a divorce, Gauri informs him that it will cost him Rs 2 crore.

Later, Govinda is seen threatening Gauri with a gun, and a shot is fired. However, it is not made clear if Gauri is the murder victim. Even though there is no body, Govinda is now the main suspect and must avoid both the police and the goons who all think he is the murderer.
The official synopsis of the film reads: The story of Govinda Waghmare, who is a small-time junior background dancer. Life is not going great for this boy next door as he owns a huge amount of money in debt and his house is at stake. To make matters worse, his wife Gauri (Bhumi) is having an affair and also physically abuses him. The only silver lining in Govinda's life is his girlfriend Suku (Kiara Advani), with whom he loves to dance in the Mumbai rains.
'Govinda Naam Mera' is directed by Shashank Khaitan of 'Dhadak' and 'Badrinath Ki Dulhania fame'. The film will begin streaming on Disney+ Hotstar on December 16 onwards.
