Pawan Kalyan starrer ‘Vakeel Saab’, which released on April 9, had set the box office on fire. While the crime drama is making waves on Amazon Prime Video, the makers have landed in legal trouble after a businessman lodged a complaint, accusing them of displaying his phone number in a scene in ‘Vakeel Saab’ and causing damage to his name.

When the businessman from Hyderabad's Amarpreet got a call asking for soliciting services, he was confused. He was flooded with obscene and vulgar calls from different people at odd hours.

According to a report in New Indian Express, the man alleged that makers of ‘Vakeel Saab’ have used his phone number in a ‘derogatory manner’. In his complaint, he said that he went through mental stress after his number was circulated on the internet post the film’s release.

The businessman’s real number was displayed in a scene where one of the villains morphed Anjali’s photo and shared her number. Just like the character, Sudhakar ended her receiving spam calls and messages from people, who would abuse him.

Sudhakar has taken legal action against the makers for using his number without permission. The Punjagutta police officials have started an inquiry following his complaint.

'Vakeel Saab' is the Telugu remake of Amitabh Bachchan and Taapsee Pannu starrer 'Pink'. The movie couldn't enjoy a long theatrical run due to the COVID-19 crisis. The flick co-starring Nivetha Thomas, Anjali and Prakash Raj is receiving a good response upon its release on Amazon Prime Video.
