New Delhi: With the release of 'UT69', Raj Kundra made his acting debut, and the audience has given their verdict. The movie chronicles Raj's time spent as an undertrial in a pornographic case at Mumbai's Arthur Road Jail.

Raj, the spouse of Bollywood star Shilpa Shetty, was taken into custody on allegations that he had produced pornographic material. The businessman had said before that he wanted to convey his own version of events through film because he was not given the opportunity to tell his narrative in all of it.

Shilpa posted rushes from 'UT69' on Instagram on Friday. She praised Raj's ability to tap into suffering for inspiration.

“My dearest Cookie, I know I say many things… but, this is something I want you to remember! YOU are special and brave, and I am soooo proud of you (emojis). Many people go through hardships… some become cynical, some bitter, and some even change. What is admirable is how YOU have taken it all in your stride and embraced life’s journey with positivity. UT69 celebrates the human spirit and shows how one can turn adversities into strength. You’re a living example of that. We all have our journeys - and you have endured yours with faith and patience,” she wrote.

However, the audience's response to the movie was contrary. Here is what netizens had to say:

'UT 69,' directed by Shahnawaz Ali, is a dark comedy-satire-political-thriller-commentary that is based on the true story of Raj Kundra's detention at Arthur Road Jail. In this film, Raj Kundra plays the main character. On November 3, 2023, the film, which was written by Vikram Bhatt, was released in theaters.
