New Delhi: Bollywood espionage thriller ‘Ulajh’, directed by Sudhanshu Saria, was released in theatres on August 2. There was a lot of buzz about the film's release, but it bombed at the box office and received negative reviews. The film stars Janhvi Kapoor and Gulshan Devaiah in the lead.
On its first day of release, ‘Ulajh’ made Rs 1.15 crore, as reported by Sacnilk. The film's domestic total reached about Rs 4.90 crore after a disappointing weekend, with earnings of Rs 1.75 crore on Saturday and Rs 2.00 crore on Sunday. The film saw a total Hindi occupancy of 23.26% on Sunday.
The film is also facing tough competition with Ajay Devgn and Tabu's 'Auron Mein Kahan Dum Tha'.

The movie's official synopsis reads: "The journey of a young diplomat, belonging to a prominent family of patriots, who gets embroiled in a dangerous personal conspiracy while far from her home turf, at a career-defining post."

Gulshan Devaiah took to X (formerly Twitter) to address the film's disappointing box office performance. The actor emphasised that hits and flops are part of an actor's journey and that embracing the struggle is essential to achieving success. He reshared a box office report, writing, “Struggle is the salt that makes success taste good. The ones who don’t embrace the struggle will never achieve anything worthwhile. This is a tough business. Period.”
