New Delhi: The Coronavirus pandemic has forced the people to observe social distancing in order to stop the spread of the deadly virus. Several companies have provided the work from home facility to their employees and the people seem to making full use of it. Everyone has turned to binge-watching their favourite series and films on Netflix and Amazon Prime. After all, what else you can do while you are self-isolating? Twitter users, who are quite observant (we must say), have noticed a similarity between Rapunzel’s plight in Disney's film ‘Tangled’ and the COVID-19 lockdown.

Interestingly, the film loosely based on the German fairy tale "Rapunzel"  narrated the story of a young princess who was abducted by a woman named Mother Gothel. The Princess was confined to an isolated tower in a village. And guess what? The name of the Kingdom is Corona. Rapunzel, the princess of Corona, had healing properties in her golden hair.

Several users took to Twitter to talk about co-incidental link between Coronavirus and ‘Tangled’. Interestingly, the princess was kept in isolation away from her birthland Corona.

Twitterati called Rapunzel the 'queen of social distancing as she was quarantined for 18 years'. One user wrote, "if Rapunzel can be isolated for 18 years without hoards of toilet paper, so can we."

Princess Rapunzel had to stay confined for 18 years in the isolated tower until she met her lover Flynn Rider. One user wrote, "I don’t know how Rapunzel lasted 18 years in a tower. I’m barely on day 4 of quarantine and I’m losing my mind due to boredom."

In case you are yet to watch 'Tangled', what are you for waiting for? Grab some popcorn and enjoy the animated film.
