Farhan Akhtar starrer ‘Toofan’ has been making waves ever since it was announced that the much-awaited flick would premiere directly on a leading OTT platform. The teaser of the sports drama co-starring Mrunal Thakur was unveiled on Friday (March 12). It has managed to receive a good response from the fans on social media.
Farhan took to Twitter to share the teaser of ‘Toofan’ with his followers. He tweeted, “It fills me with immense joy to give you the first glimpse of a film into which we poured all our love, passion, exuberance, madness even. It truly is a labour of love and today I am so excited to share it with you.”

Several tinsel town celebs including Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan, Hrithik Roshan lauded Toofan’s teaser and extended their warm wishes to the film’s team.
Salman, who will be next seen in ‘Radhe: Your Most Wanted Bhai’, promoted the film on Twitter. He wrote, “Congratz farhan teaser looks good” while sharing the teaser.
Farhan, who plays a national level boxer in ‘Toofan’, responded to Salman’s tweet and thanked him for his kind words. He revealed that the first punching bag he hit was hanging at Khan’s house.
“Thank you @BeingSalmanKhan. The first punching bag I ever hit was hanging in your home,” the ‘Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara’ actor wrote on the micro-blogging site.
SRK, who worked with Farhan in two instalments of ‘Don’, said that he was always ‘inspired’ by the efforts the filmmaker puts in his work. Akhtar responded by writing, "Thank you so much for the kind words, the poetry & the positivity .. Love you man."
‘Toofan’, which has been directed by Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra, was originally slated to hit the silver screens on October 2, 2020. It couldn’t release on its scheduled date due to the COVID-19 crisis. The film will now premiere directly on Amazon Prime Video on May 21, 2021.
