New Delhi: Bollywood superstar Salman Khan on Tuesday said that political leaders who declare wars between two countries will shiver in fear if they are sent to borders to fight.

Salman was speaking during promotion of his upcoming movie ‘Tubelight’ which is set in the 1962 Sino-Indian War. He hoped the war-mongering between both the neighbouring countries ends soon and no soldier is kept captive.

“I wish the border firing ends soon. Jawans from both the sides should reach their families safely. In wars, many families are deprived of their sons and fathers,” he said.

“Those who order wars should be given weapons to fight. In one day the war will stop. Their hands and legs would tremble forcing them to come back to the table to hold a discussion,” he added.

Voicing a similar opinion, Salman’s brother and co-actor Sohail Khan said, “Anyone you ask will not advocate waging a war. Any conflict can be resolved only by discussing it across the table.”

‘Tubelight’ is about the Kumaon Regiment as it is one the active regiment on both the fronts of the war - east and west. The movie also stars Chinese actress Zhu Zhu and late Om Puri. It is set to release this Eid which is during the end of the month.
