New Delhi: The Kerala Story seems to be on its way to becoming a very successful film. It was anticipated that the film's upward trajectory, which it had enjoyed during the weekdays would continue on Friday as well. On day eight, however, Sudipto Sen’s ‘The Kerala Story’ saw no change in revenue compared to day seven. It looks like the film would need one more day to earn Rs 100 crore.

‘The Kerala Story’ earned Rs 12.23 crore on May 12, bringing its net domestic collection to Rs 93.37 crore and its worldwide gross collection to Rs 109.25 crore, according to the entertainment tracking portal Sacnilk.com. This is despite the release of a new Hindi film, the spy thriller ‘IB 71’ starring Vidyut Jammwal.

Trade analyst Taran Adarsh also shared the total collection of the movie:

Following ‘Pathaan’, which starred Shah Rukh Khan, Deepika Padukone, and John Abraham; Ranbir Kapoor and Shraddha Kapoor’s rom-com ‘Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar’; Ajay Devgn and Tabu’s  ‘Bholaa’; and Salman Khan and Pooja Hegde’s ‘Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan’, ‘The Kerala Story’ will be the fifth Bollywood film to gross over Rs 100 cr worldwide in 2023.

'The Kerala Story', directed by Sudipto Sen, depicts how women from Kerala were forcefully converted and recruited by the terror group Islamic State (IS). The film, which was produced by Vipul Amrutlal Shah, premiered in theatres on May 5. Adah Sharma, Yogita Bihani, Siddhi Idnani, and Sonia Balani play the main characters in 'The Kerala Story'.
