Although, ‘The Accidental Prime Minister’ has received thumbs up from the users on Twitter, movie critics have given it scathing reviews, calling it a propaganda film.
Film critic Ajay Brahmatmaj gave the controversial flick two stars out of five’. He called the film weak in terms of cinema.
The Indian Express' film critic Shubhra Gupta, in her review, called 'The Accidental Prime Minister, an out-an-out propaganda film, saying it was made to portray Singh in poor light. Gupta didn't rate the film out of five stars.

Another film critic Rahul Desai gave the movie half star, saying it is too bad to be called a propaganda film. It remains to be seen how the film will fare at the box office after getting mixed reviews from the critics. 'The Accidental Prime Minister' will face stiff competition from Vicky Kaushal and Yami Gautam starrer 'Uri: The Surgical Strike'', which has also released today.
