New Delhi: Versatile Bollywood actress Taapsee Pannu is back to entertain fans with her latest release 'Thappad' directed by Anubhav Sinha. Featuring actor Pavail Gulati opposite Taapsee, 'Thappad' has received favourable reviews from critics and the film started on a good note at the box-office by collecting Rs. 3.07 crore on first day. Due to positive word of mouth and leading lady Taapsee Pannu's memorable performance, 'Thappad' has witnessed a substantial growth on the second day of its release.


On Saturday (February 29), the film has collected Rs. 5.05 crore thereby making the grand total to Rs. 8.12 crore. Film critic and trade analyst Taran Adarsh shared the film's second day box office collection on Twitter.

He wrote, "#Thappad jumps on Day 2... Occupancy at metros - target audience - witnesses substantial growth... Needs to maintain the pace on Day 3... Eyes ₹ 14 cr [+/-] total in its *opening weekend*... Fri 3.07 cr, Sat 5.05 cr. Total: ₹ 8.12 cr. #India biz."

'Thappad' is eyeing a decent first weekend at the box-office for which the film needs to maintain the pace on Sunday as well.

'Thappad' also stars Ratna Pathak Shah, Dia Mirza and Tanvi Azmi in pivotal roles. The film, which has been directed by Anubhav Sinha, questions the unjust norms of the society when it comes to domestic violence in a relationship.
