New Delhi: Bhumi Pednekar, Shehnaaz Gill, Kusha Kapila, Dolly Singh, and Shibani Bedi starrer ‘Thank You For Coming’ was screened at the Gala Premiere during the 48th Toronto International Film Festival. The film, directed by Karan Boolani received a positive response from international publications.
Indie Wire has called Bhumi Pednekar a ‘star performer with irrepressible charm’ in its review. The review read, “Karan Boolani brings Kanika’s world to life with sumptuous visuals, kinetic editing, a jaunty soundtrack, and punchy rat-a-tat dialogue.”
Screen Rant gave the film a thumbs up and appreciated Bhumi’s performance. Its review read, “Pednekar's standout performance and the movie's big heart make it a delightful and enjoyable watch.”
Mashable called the film an ‘empowering and raunchy feminist comedy.’ “The Hindi film unpacks patriarchal notions and themes like marital pressure — but it's hilarious and empathetic in the process,” its review read.
Brown Girl Magazine, celebrates producer Rhea Kapoor's knack for assembling the perfect cast, stating "Producers Rhea Kapoor and Ektaa Kapoor have mastered the formula of a good chick flick, and Rhea’s casting is the magic touch. Directed by Karan Boolani, the film also stars Pradhuman Singh Mall, Natasha Rastogi, Gautmik, Sushant Divgikar, Saloni Daini, Dolly Ahluwalia, Karan Kundrra, and a special appearance by Anil Kapoor.
