New Delhi: There is good news for the fans of Tamil superstar Thalapathi Vijay! The actor has finally joined Instagram and posted for the first time on Sunday afternoon.

The Varisu actor posted a picture of himself smiling. He captioned the image as, “Hello Nanbas and Nanbis (Hello friends).” Vijay, who is shooting for Lokesh Kanagaraj’s 'Leo', sports a salt-and-pepper look in his Instagram photo.

The Instagram account has been clocking followers since within an hour of Vijay joining the social media platform.

While Vijay is Vijay is yet to follow anyone from his account, he has gained 4.3 million followers in less than 24 hours. Rashmika Mandanna and Keerthy Suresh were amongst the first few actors to follow him on Instagram, followed by others.

The hashtag “Thalapathy On Instagram” started trending on Twitter soon after he joined Instagram.

Vijay, who was interacting with his fans through Twitter, took a break for some time, so his entry into Instagram is considered a new avenue for him to post photos and promote his movies.

Vijay has 7.8 million followers on Facebook and 4.4 million on Twitter.

The actor was last seen in Tamil blockbuster Varisu alongside Rashmika Mandanna. He will next be seen in ‘Leo’ that marks a reunion between Vijay and Kanagaraj after the 2021 blockbuster 'Master'.  Actor Trisha Krishnan also stars in the film. She has previously worked with Vijay in Tamil hits -- ‘Ghilli’, ‘Kuruvi’, ‘Thirupaachi’ and ‘Aathi’.

The film also stars Sanjay Dutt, Priya Anand, Sandy, Goutam Vasudev Menon, Arjun and Malayalam actor Mathew Thomas in major roles, apart from Vijay.

Director Lokesh Kanagaraj recently declared that Leo will be a gangster movie. He made it clear that it won't be a part of the movie universe he's creating, though. The Lokesh Cinematic Universe, sometimes known as LCU, debuted with Vikram, which featured characters from Lokesh's 'Kaithi'.
