As per the several media reports, the 48-year-old Kamalakar Reddy and his 75-year-old father were coming from Nellore in a private ambulance to Hyderabad for the latter's treatment.
Recently, Kamalakar's father was found to be infected with the novel Coronavirus and he had to be hospitalised. This is why the two were travelling in an ambulance to a hospital in Hyderabad.
While on their way to the hospital, the vehicle in which the duo was travelling hit a lorry which was parked on the road. The collision between the ambulance and the lorry led to the death of both father and the son on the spot due to a head injury.
Going by the reports, the police upon acknowledging the development, rushed to the accident site to investigate in this regard. The early speculations suggest that the driver might have fallen asleep which led to the crash.
The dead bodies of both Kamalakar and his father have been take to a government hospital for the post-mortem while the driver of the ambulance who suffered serious injuries has been admitted for treatment in the nearby hospital in Miryalaguda.

Producer Mukesh Ratilal extended his heartfelt condolences upon the demise of the two. Taking to his Twitter, Mehta wrote, "2020 is wretched just got the news a very close friend a genuine friend and above all a good human being Kamalakar Reddy of KFC Entertainments is no more due to a road accident God can you please have mercy really shattered."
Meanwhile, the details regarding Kamalakar Reddy and his father's last rites remain awaited.
