Ted Talks India Launch: Srk REACTS to 'Bigg Boss 11' host Salman saying "I'll be tough competition to Akshay-SRK"!

Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan, who is returning to television with upcoming TV show "TED Talks India Nayi Soch", says he has no plans of competing with actors Akshay Kumar and Salman Khan when asked to react on what 'Bigg Boss 11' host Salman during show's launch recently. During the launch of Bigg Boss 11 two week ago, when asked if he fears competition with the upcoming shows being hosted by rival superstars Akshay Kumar and Shah Rukh Khan, Salman's response was "it's going to be a tough competition...[took a pause! and goes...]..for them! [and burst into laughter!]". During the launch of 'Ted Talk India' last evening, SRK was asked to react on this by a journalist who said - "When Salman was asked about you, Akshay and him being on TV at the same time, that he's going to be a tough competition to you guys. So what is your idea on his idea?" SRK looking visibly very calm, responded to this with - "To be really honest, Salman and Akshay, what they are doing, they are in the league of their own. I am not even competing with them right now.They are doing wonderfully well and I think it's sweet of Salman to say what he said."

Salman is currently hosting controversial reality show "Bigg Boss 11" while Akshay is seen as Super Judge on comedy show "The Great Indian Laughter Challenge". "Having said that, I am not saying that our show is so different that we are not competing on the platform. I feel that this ('TED Talks') really is a different kind of platform where it has a different sensibility. I am not saying what they are doing is old, has been there and done dead." Even a week after launch of 'Bigg Boss 11', during show's grand premiere, Salman had taken a sly dig at all his superstar TV host rivals Akshay, SRK & Aamir Khan saying how getting TV audience is far difficult for him & other stars than getting them to the theatres. He said they have to sell themselves and he then went on to mention how Akshay turned pregnant to promote his show[Bigg Boss 11: Salman Khan jokes about ‘pregnant’ Akshay talking about his contemporary stars hosting TV shows!]. "I know what Salman is doing, he is doing aBigg Boss 11' and Akshay is hosting 'The Great Indian Laughter Challenge'. But this show is different and unrelatable," Shah Rukh added. Shah Rukh said that "TED Talks India Nayi Soch" is an inspiring show. "I think this will be running in a league of its own and not competing with anyone. It is generally a very hopeful and inspiring show. It will have entertainment. It is not plugged in to get ratings or audiences. The show is about sharing ideas. Hopefully we will be competing with ourselves for what aTED Talks' has created over the years," he said. "TED Talks India: Nayi Soch" is a Hindi TV talk show created in partnership with TED, a non-profit organisation devoted to 'ideas worth spreading'. It will feature speakers from various fields sharing ideas in TED's signature format of short, powerful talks. This is the first time TED is collaborating with a major network to produce a TV series featuring original "TED Talks" in Hindi. (With inputs from IANS)
