New Delhi: The official teaser of Anurag Kashyap's directorial 'Kennedy' is out. Starring Rahul Bhat and Sunny Leone, the film looks like a dark, gruesome tale of murder in the black comedy genre. Anrag Kashyap shared the teaser on his official Instagram handle and wrote, "Bataaaa...kitna maza aaya...yeh teaser dekh ke?!Kennedy premieres at @Festival_Cannes on May 24!"
Th teaser opens with someone asking how many murders has an unknown person done and how much fun it was. 'Kennedy' teaser is complimented with an interesting background score. It closes with a lift scene starring Sunny Leone and Rahul Bhat. The dark humour is evident as is the murder saga which will inevitably flow in the movie's trailer.
As per the film's synopsis, it is about an insomniac ex-cop who dwells in different circumstances looking for redemption. The ex-cop, who is presumed dead for a log time,operated secretly for the corrupt system.
Earlier, in an interview with Variety, Anurag Kashyap spoke about his upcoming noir thriller. "I’ve liked everything that I’ve done. Personally, I will not do what I don’t want to do. But sometimes in between, after Psycho Raman came a phase where this whole Phantom fiasco that happened, the lockdown that happened, there were a lot of things going on…” He shared. For the unversed, Phantom Studios’ dissolution was announced in 2018.
It was founded by Kashyap, Vikramaditya Motwane, Vikas Bahl and Madhu Mantena. Later, Kashyap founded his new production company, Good Bad Films.
Meanwhile, 'Kennedy' will have it's premiere at Cannes 2023. This is not the first time an Anurag Kashyap film will be screened at Cannes.His magnum opus 'Gangs of Wasseypur' was screened at the 2012 Cannes Directors' Fortnight. His 'Raman Raghav 2.0' also premiered in the Director's Fortnight section at the 2016 Cannes Film Festival.
