If a recent report in Mumbai Mirror is to be believed, the ED has not found any large-scale misappropriation of funds from Sushant's bank account. The federal agency, which is probing the money laundering angle in the high-profile case, has found that actor's family was not aware about his finances or how he managed his financial activities, the report added. The ED has also not found any direct or irregular transfer from Sushant's account to Rhea Chakraborty's account.
"So far nothing suspicious or irregular has been found in the ED probe into finances, including those pertaining to transactions from his bank accounts, funds and other financial activities. The probe is still on, though. It appears there were some misconceptions on their part. (Rajput’s) family had no idea about his finances or how he conducted his financial activities," a source told the leading daily.
Some parts of the 'Chhichhore' actor's funds are still missing and the ED is probing the same, the source added.
Sushant's family lawyer Vikas Singh accepted that his family members had no idea about his finances. He told the daily that they never tried to interfere or control the 'Raabta' actor. He alleged that Sushant's chartered accountant was changed and his sister Priyanka was 'edged out of his life'.
Earlier this week, the Bombay High Court granted bail to Rhea Chakraborty in a drugs case related to Sushant Singh Rajput's death case. The 'Jalebi' actress was granted bail on personal bond of Rs 1 lakh. The court directed Chakraborty to surrender her passport and report at the police station for ten days after her release. She walked out of Byculla jail on October 7 after staying in custody for 28 days.
