Through her lawyer in the Supreme Court, Rhea Chakrborty said that she was being 'victimised' after Sushant's demise. The 'Jalebi' actress' counsel Shyam Diwan argued that the FIR was filed against her client in Patna due to political influence.  Divan told the bench that the FIR lodged by Sushant's dad against Rhea Chakraborty has no connection with any offence in Patna. He added that there was a considerable amount of state's interference in the case.

Bihar government's counsel, however, contended that there was political pressure in Maharashtra and not Bihar.
