Veteran filmmaker Mahesh Bhatt’s name surfaced in media as being closely connected to Rhea Chakraborty, ever since Sushant Singh Rajput’s tragic demise on June 14, 2020. And now some recent chats between the duo came to light, which reveal that the filmmaker had tried to contact Rhea on the day Sushant passed away.

According to a transcript of chats accessed by India Today, Rhea Chakraborty had apparently informed filmmaker Mahesh Bhatt on June 8 that she was leaving her boyfriend, late actor Sushant Singh Rajput.

Mahesh Bhatt had reportedly asked Rhea to call him around 2:35 pm on June 14, post which he had also tried calling the actress but the calls went unanswered. The report also stated that on June 15, a day after Sushant passed away, Mahesh Bhatt had sent Rhea a WhatsApp forward.

According to the screen grab of Rhea and Mahesh Bhatt’s WhatsApp chat from June 8, the actress had messaged Bhatt, "Aisha moves on..sir..with a heavy heart and sense of relief." Aisha was the name of Rhea's character in 2018 release 'Jalebi', co-produced by Mahesh Bhatt.

She followed it up with messages that read, “Our last call was a wake up call” and "You are my angel You were then And you are now". While Mahesh Bhatt had responded via two separate messages, "Dont look back. Make it possible what is inevitable" and "My love to your father. He will be a happy man".
