Thanks to the unprecedented level of interest, the film broke the record for most paid previews ever established by Shah Rukh Khan's ‘Chennai Express’. Despite Chennai Express’s 2013 nett revenue of Rs 6.75 crore in paid preview, ‘Stree 2’ reportedly grossed close to Rs 8 crore, according to early trade estimates, making it the highest-grossing paid preview film.
Compared to Shah Rukh Khan's 'Dunki', which had an advance booking of Rs 15.41 crore and 5.5 lakh seats sold on the first day, Stree 2's first-day advance booking was 53% higher.
