New Delhi: 'Stree 2', the horror comedy sequel directed by Amar Kaushik, is still generating buzz and breaking records at the box office on a daily basis. This film starring Rajkummar Rao and Shraddha Kapoor surpassed the lifetime Hindi language collections of the Yash-led ‘KGF Chapter 2’ on Wednesday. In only 14 days, 'Stree 2' made a nett of Rs 435 crore. Now, the film is expected to enter the esteemed Rs 500 crore club this weekend, making it the ninth picture overall (including important South Indian films) and the fifth Bollywood film to reach this milestone.
On its second Wednesday, ‘Stree 2’ had its worst single-day gross in India. But it was still a smashing success.‘Stree 2’ earned Rs 9.25 crore, increasing its total domestic profits to an estimated Rs 445 crore, according to industry tracker Sacnilk.
With earnings of over Rs 435 crore rupees, ’Stree 2’ has surpassed the mark set by ‘KGF Chapter 2’ and is now the sixth highest-grossing Hindi film of all time. The Hindi version of the Yash-starring film contributed significantly to its over Rs 1,200 crore worldwide revenue upon its 2022 release.
In terms of worldwide box office receipts, the film surpassed Rs 600 crore by Tuesday. ‘Stree 2’ is likely to have a somewhat better showing in its third weekend at the box office, despite the anticipated decline in receipts.
Along with ‘Gadar 2’ (Rs 525.7 crore), ‘Pathaan’ (Rs 543.09 crore), and ‘Animal’ (Rs 553.87 crore), ‘Stree 2’ is now striving to exceed the lifetime profits of these other box office heavyweights, further establishing its place as one of the greatest successes in recent times.
