New Delhi: 'RRR' continues to win hearts almost a year after its theatrical release. Despite streaming on Netflix, the SS Rajamouli film is successfully running across theatres in Japan. After Jr. NTR, Ram Charan starrer 'RRR' won Best Original Song at the Golden Globes and now having been nominated in the same category at the Academy awards this year, a lot of anticipation is riding on the success of the film.


In Japan, 'RRR' has completed a successful 100 days at the theatres.


On Saturday, SS Rajamouli took to his official Twitter handle and shared the excitement around the film's 100 days in Japan, "Back in those days, a film running for 100days, 175 days etc was a big thing. The business structure changed over time...Gone are those fond memories... But the Japanese fans are making us relive the joy ❤️❤️ Love you Japan... Arigato Gozaimasu...🙏🏽🙏🏽 #RRRinJapan #RRRMovie."


 






Besides the tweet, SS Rajamouli shared a poster of the film on which are listed the 114 theatres across Japan where the film is running.


Other high-grossing films in Japan include SS Rajamouli’s 'Baahubali: The Conclusion', 'Baahubali: The Beginning', Aamir Khan’s '3 Idiots', Sridevi’s 'English Vinglish', and Akshay Kumar’s 'PadMan'.


'RRR' is an epic period fiction drama. The film recreates the lives of two Indian revolutionaries Alluri Sitarama Raju and Komaram Bheem. The film also starred Ajay Devgn, Alia Bhatt and Shriya Saran. Its cinematography, action, music and story all have been appreciated by audiences and critics. The grand Rajamouli spectacle also has a loyal fan base across demographics and especially in the USA where it has received a lot of appreciation.


'RRR' released on March 25, 2023 and collected more than Rs. 1200 crores at the worldwide box office. In fact, its encore ( re-release programs in the USA) programs have also been quite profitable.
