Sonu Nigam tweets against 'Azaan' after forced to wake up early morning
NEW DELHI: Popular Bollywood singer Sonu Nigam who weaves magic with his voice was irked when he had to wake up early morning by the 'Azaan'-the Islamic call to worship. The singer was upset over the 'forced religiousness' and took to Twitter expressed his views.
Sonu tweeted, "God bless everyone. I'm not a Muslim and I have to be woken up by the Azaan in the morning. When will this forced religiousness end in India".
His ire was particularly aimed at use of loudspeakers. "And by the way Mohammed did not have electricity when he made Islam.. Why do I have to have this cacophony after Edison?" he wrote on micro-blogging site.God bless everyone. I'm not a Muslim and I have to be woken up by the Azaan in the morning. When will this forced religiousness end in India
