New Delhi: Sidharth Malhotra has delivered three memorable performances in uniform over the past few years. He began by portraying the late Captain Vikram Batra in 'Shershaah', then joined Rohit Shetty's cop universe with 'Indian Police Force', and most recently, played an officer in the aerial action film 'Yodha'. Sidharth also essayed the role of a spy in 'Mission Majnu' opposite Rashmika Mandanna. However, it appears that the actor now wishes to take a break from roles in uniform.

Sidharth Malhotra opts out of Meghna Gulzar's film

Recently, reports surfaced that Sidharth Malhotra and Meghna Gulzar were in talks for a collaboration. However, a source suggests that the actor has opted out of the film. “While Sidharth wants to really work with Meghna, he is now focusing more on diversifying his genres. The role required him to be a uniformed officer again, and thus, the actor said no to it.” The source adds that Sidharth has been rejecting roles in uniform as he aims to showcase his versatility.

Sidharth's last outing Yodha didn't do well at the box office despite the actor receiving critical acclaim for his nuanced performance. The film also starred Rashii Khanna and Disha Patani.

Upcoming projects for the actor include an action film with Murad Khetani. Additionally, Sidharth is rumored to be teaming up with his wife, Kiara Advani, for a romantic film, marking their first onscreen collaboration since their wedding last year. There is also a reported collaboration in the pipeline with Kriti Sanon for a romantic comedy.
