New Delhi: Ayushmann Khurrana starrer 'Shubh Mangal Zyada Saavdhan', which released on February 21, has started on a roaring note at the box office. The social comedy film has managed to set the cash registers jingling on its opening day. The film, which focuses on homosexuality, received good reviews from the critics and fans. Trade pundits were expecting the movie to do quite well and Ayushmann Khurrana didn't disappoint them.

After ‘Dream Girl’ and ‘Bala’, the actor is back with another entertainer. 'Shubh Mangal Zyada Saavdhan' minted Rs 9.55 crore on its first day despite competition from Vicky Kaushal starrer ‘Bhoot Part One: The Haunted Ship’.

Bollywood critic and trade analyst Taran Adarsh shared the first day box office collection of 'Shubh Mangal Zyada Saavdhan' on Twitter. He mentioned that the film performed very well in the Delhi-NCR and Punjab circuit.

Although, 'Shubh Mangal Zyada Saavdhan did quite well on its first day, it couldn't beat the opening day box office collection of 'Bala' and 'Dream Girl'.


'Shubh Mangal Zyada Saavdhan' starred Jitendra Kumar opposite Ayushmann Khurana. The film co-starring Neena Gupta, Manurishi Chaddha, Sunita Rajwar, Maanvi Gagroo, Pankhuri Awasthy and Neeraj Singh has been helmed by Hitesh Kewalya. Bhumi Pednekar, who played the female lead in 'Shubh Mangal Saavdhan', was seen in a special appearance.
