New Delhi: Nayanthara's performance in their most recent movie, 'Jawan', was hailed as "amazing" by Shah Rukh Khan, who also noted that she had "unfortunately" a smaller role. Nayanthara portrays a single mother and a police officer in the action movie. On X (formerly known as Twitter), Shah Rukh recently hosted an Ask Me Anything (AMA) session. He was reacting to a fan who praised the 'Jawan' team for including women from different backgrounds.

During the AMA session, one of the fans wrote, “I loved Azad’s bond with Suji …the single mom storyline was so subtly done and really refreshing. Thank you for representing women from all walks of life. Love you Shah @iamsrk #AskSRK #Jawan.”

“I also felt that the story of Narmada as a single mom was amazing. Unfortunately in the scheme of things couldn’t find more screen time but as is was also wonderful. #Jawan,” SRK replied.

As per Hindustan Times report, Nayanthara is not interested in more Bollywood projects for the time being since she is unhappy with how her character turned out in the movie and how Deepika's role, although being a cameo, was given greater prominence.

“She has been very upset with Atlee because her role was chopped in the film. Also, Deepika’s (Padukone) character was elevated and Nayantara’s part was significantly sidelined,” Hindustan Times quoted its source as saying.

Along with Nayanthara, 'Jawan' is directed by Atlee and stars a number of other female actors, including as Deepika Padukone, Priyamani, Sanya Malhotra, and Ridhi Dogra. Nayanthara's strong character portrays a woman leader who is also a single mother, in contrast to Deepika's character, who fights in a different way to save her son.

At the worldwide box office, 'Jawan' is close to the Rs 1000 crore mark. The action flick came out on September 7.
