New Delhi: ‘Selfiee’, starring Akshay Kumar and Emraan Hashmi, got off to a shaky start. With just three days under its belt, the film has just earned close to Rs 10 crore. There was some improvement during the weekend, but the reports indicate that it wasn't enough to boost the film's overall box office performance.
At the end of its third day of release on February 26th, Selfiee had made Rs 3.90 crore. As a result, the film's domestic box office take has increased to Rs 10.25 crore. If a film only earns Rs 10 crore in its first three days of release, critics would likely to label it "flop."
In light of the fact that the movie stars Akshay Kumar, one of the top box office draws, the total seems even more disheartening. If ‘Selfiee’ continues to underperform at the box office, it would be lucky to earn Rs 20–25 crore.
On its first day, the movie made approximately Rs 2.55 crore. Throughout Akshay's 14-year film career, this is his worst opening weekend. Samrat Prithviraj, Ram Setu, Raksha Bandhan, and Bachchhan Paandey are just a few of his previous failures.
‘Selfiee’ has an ensemble cast including Akshay Kumar, Emran Hashmi, Nushratt Bharuccha and Diana Penty. Akshay plays a 'superstar,' while Emraan Hashmi is both his greatest fan and a police officer in this action-comedy. The movie premiered on February 24.
'Selfiee', a Raj Mehta-directed movie, is the official Hindi adaptation of the Malayalam movie Driving License. The lead actors in the movie were Prithviraj and Suraj Venjaramoodu.
As per our in-house review of the movie: 'Selfiee' is nevertheless watchable among the recent Bollywood offerings, despite the fact that it struggles to engage its audience due to the absence of irony in comparison to the original film. People who can particularly watch this comedy drama are die-hard Akshay fans, folks who haven't seen the Malayalam movie and those who don't have any (better) plans for this weekend.
