The Bollywood stars joined global artists as storytellers with Save the Children during the Coronavirus lockdown.

New Delhi: The Coronavirus pandemic has forced the people to stay locked inside their homes and observe social distancing. As everyone adapts to limitations imposed by the COVID-19 lockdown in India, there has been myriad new material made available for the children. Bollywood actress and Artist Ambassador of Save the Children- Dia Mirza and other Bollywood stars have joined Hollywood celebs like Amy Adams and Jennifer Garner on social media in telling the world their favourite children’s story through the initiative called #SaveWithStories. The idea behind the same is to keep the children engaged during lockdown and also support child rights charity. Several Bollywood celebs including Soha Ali Khan, Huma Qureshi have also extended support to the child rights organisation that works for the welfare of the most vulnerable children and marginalized communities. The tinsel town stars are trying their best to bring some levity amid national lockdown by posting videos during the crucial times. Dia Mirza took to Instagram to share a video in which she can be seen reading a Shel Siverstein story called ‘The Giving Tree’. She posted a long note that read, “While our kids will stay safely in our home, many children who live on the fringes of society without shelter or protection, leaving them more vulnerable and exposed than ever. The story I have chosen is dedicated to those children across the world. We can HELP children in India now by supporting @savethechildren_india @savewithstories who will continue to reach children at risk of disease and infection through their programmes. It’s simple, #SavewithStories - grab a tale for kids that inspired you when you were young or a story you discovered as i did looking for good books to share with children, put out a book reading video on a post or a story and ask your friends to #SlowTheCurve by donating at www.savethechildren.in/savewithstories. I nominate @sakpataudi @nehadhupia @varundvn @bipashabasu @gulpanag @karanjohar to pick up and read their favourite story for children ❤️❤️❤️ #StayHomeStaySafe”.
