New Delhi: The romance flick 'Satyaprem Ki Katha', starring Kartik Aaryan and Kiara Advani, showed signs of making headway during the course of the second weekend following a mediocre week. On its second Monday, the earnings of the movie, however, fell once again.

The movie had a strong start, earning Rs 9.25 crores on day one. After a slight decline on working Friday, it pulled in Rs 7 crores on day two, Rs 10.10 crores on day three, and Rs 12.15 crores on day four, following its upward trend. On Monday, day 12, it only managed to bring in about Rs 2 crore. 'Satyaprem Ki Katha', according to a report on Sacnilk.com, had an incredible rise of over 66 percent on Sunday with collections of Rs 5.25 crore, but it once more dropped. The movie brought in Rs 2 crore on Sunday, bringing its total domestic take in India to Rs 68.06 crore, and it has now surpassed the Rs 100 crore milestone globally.

The film review on ABP Live reads: Sameer Vidwans, who has directed two Marathi films, before 'Satyaprem Ki Katha' tries to make a big massy film with a message to appeal to the Hindi-speaking audiences. And, in that he succeeds despite all the cringe, predictable, three-act tale that makes no pretense of intellectualizing what it does. There are no layers, everything is literal and in your face in 'Satyaprem Ki Katha'. The audience is spoon-fed and given a cathartic moment at the end and what more can a filmmaker strive to achieve.

The cast of 'Satyaprem Ki Katha', which is directed by Sameer Vidwans, also includes Gajraj Rao, Supriya Pathak, Shikha Talsania, Rajpal Yadav, Siddharth Randeria, and Anuradha Patel. The romantic film released in theatres on June 29.
