New Delhi: Kartik Aaryan and Kiara Advani's performance in Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 was critically acclaimed. It seems that they are moving in the same direction with their next film, ‘Satyaprem Ki Katha’, which premiered on June 29. Audiences have been quite enthusiastic about it. After collecting Rs 9.25 crore on its first day of release, which coincided with Eid on Thursday, Kartik Aaryan and Kiara Advani's film suffered a bit on Friday. The Sameer Vidwans-directed film is rapidly approaching the Rs 20 crore mark.

Day 2 box office collection of ‘Satyaprem Ki Katha’ was shared by trade analyst Taran Adarsh on social media. He wrote, "The working day [Fri] - immediately after the holiday [Thu] - impacted the earnings of #SatyaPremKiKatha on Day 2… Evening shows, however, saw good momentum at national chains… Thu 9.25 cr, Fri 7 cr. Total: ₹ 16.25 cr. #India biz."

Friday being a working day led to a modest drop in the film's profits. The collection of ‘Satyaprem Ki Katha’ is projected to increase this weekend thanks to the film's excellent word of mouth and mixed reviews from reviewers.

The film review on ABP Live reads: 'Satyaprem Ki Katha' ends up becoming something more than an entertainer. Like the film had to qualify some social angle exam to become watchable in a theatre. Truthfully, that's a common formula template many filmmakers have been exploring, especially since content consumption patterns have changed so much post-pandemic. But, why succumb to the need of audience likes/dislikes? If the film has the potential to survive standalone on the basis of the story it tells, why purposely add elements like spoon-feeding a social message when it can say all that in a story without being literal about it?

Supriya Pathak, Gajraj Rao, Siddharth Randheria, Anooradha Patel, Rajpal Yadav, Nirrmite Saawaant, and Shikha Talsania also appear in the Sameer Vidwans-directed film.
