New Delhi: Based on the life of revolutionary freedom fighter Udham Singh, ‘Sardar Udham’ is a biographical film by Shoojit Sircar. Starring Vicky Kaushal in the lead role, this movie tells the story of Udham Singh who is known for assassinating Michael O'Dwyer in London to avenge the 1919 Jallianwala Bagh massacre in Amritsar.
Many celebrities from the Hindi film industry praised Vicky Kaushal’s performance in ‘Sardar Udham’. Actress Sara Ali Khan also took to her Instagram stories and heaped praises for the movie and Vicky Kaushal as an actor.
The ‘Atrangi Re’ actress shared a story on her Instagram that read, “An intensely honest, visually stunning and soul touching film by Shoojit Sircar Sir! Beautiful, gut wrenching and simply brilliant performance by Vicky Kaushal. You truly are one of the finest actors we have.”
Vicky Kaushal’s rumoured girlfriend Katrina Kaif also praised the movie and wrote, “@shoojitsircar what a vision, such a gripping beautiful film, pure unadulterated storytelling - @vickykaushal09 is just pure talent, raw, honest, heartbreaking”.
Other than Vicky Kaushal as Udham Singh, the movie also stars Amol Parashar as Bhagat Singh, Banita Sandhu as Reshma, Shaun Scott as Michael O’Dwyer and others. The film premiered on Amazon Prime Video on October 16, 2021.
Vicky started his career by working as an Assistant Director in ‘Gangs of Wasseypur’. He made his acting debut with the 2012 film ‘Luv Shuv Tey Chicken Khurana’. He bagged his first role as a lead in the 2015 movie ‘Masaan’ and since then, there has been no stopping for the actor as he featured in movies like ‘Raman Raghav 2.0’, ‘Sanju’, ‘Raazi’, ‘URI: The Surgical Strike’ and others.
Vicky Kaushal will be next seen featuring in ‘Sam Bahadur’, ‘The Great Indian Family’ and ‘Mr Lele’.
