New Delhi: Sara Ali Khan has been actively promoting her new movie, Gaslight, in which she co-stars with Vikrant Massey and Chitrangada Singh. It will debut on Disney+ Hotstar on March 31. Sara was asked about actor-mom Amrita Singh's response to her breakups in a recent interview. She was also questioned what her father, actor Saif Ali Khan, thought about her 2020 movie Love Aaj Kal's failure.

Sara was also questioned about a time when her candour got her into trouble. Sara Ali Khan said that it was something she had said in "an interview" but she would not go into greater detail.

During an interview with ETimes, when asked what were the two words mom Amrita Singh said to her after a breakup, Sara said she says, "It's okay." According to rumours, Sara was dating Kartik Aaryan, her co-star in Love Aaj Kal. The two have never acknowledged or disputed their romance, but in an interview from last year, director Karan Johar discussed their supposed breakup. There have also been rumours that Sara is dating cricketer Shubman Gill, however neither party has officially confirmed this.

When questioned about Saif's response to the poor performance of her movie 'Love Aaj Kal', Sara said, "He was not happy. He did not like the performance. He said it was not good." Deepika Padukone and Saif Ali Khan played the key characters in Imtiaz Ali's 2009 film 'Love Aaj Kal'. Rishi Kapoor, Giselli Monteiro, and other actors also appeared in the movie. Years later, Sara, who made her feature debut with Kedarnath in 2018, starred in Imtiaz Ali's 'Love Aaj Kal' (2020). She was paired opposite Kartik Aaryan.

Sara admitted about not being a good performer in 'Love Aaj Kal' in another recent interview. While appearing on The Ranveer Show, Sara had said, "My performance in Love Aaj Kal was really horrible. Like, I was not convincing in Coolie. I think that I'm aware of that. I am aware of the fact that... see it's also an expectation game, after Kedarnath and Simmba, me, my mother (Amrita Singh), my brother (Ibrahim Ali Khan), audiences, everybody had a certain expectation because I was decent in these films. I did come out suddenly and it was like, 'Oh my god, Sara!' And then I gave you two back to back films where you're like, 'Really Sara?'"

On the work front, Sara will be seen in 'Gaslight' along with Vikrant Massey and Chitrangda Singh. Sara also has a film with Vicky Kaushal in the pipeline.
