"The last few weeks were very difficult time for my family and me. But like they say, God gives the hardest battles to his strongest soldiers. And today, on the occasion of my kid's birthday, I am happy to come out victorious from this battle and be able to give them the best gift I can- the health and well-being of our family," Sanjay said in a statement.
The 'Panipat' actor acknowledged his fans and expressed his gratitude towards them for the love and support. He also thanked his family members and friends for providing rock solid support during the tough times.
"This wouldn't have been possible without the unwavering faith and support from all of you. I am eternally grateful to my family, friends and all fans who have stood by me and been my source of strength through this trying time. Thank you for the love, kindness and the countless blessings that you have sent my way," he added.
Dutt, who was undergoing treatment at Mumbai's Kokilaben Hospital, expressed his gratitude towards the doctors. He thanked them for taking 'good care' of him in the last few weeks.
"I am specially grateful to Dr. Sewanti and her team of doctors, nurses and the medical staff at Kokilaben Hospital who have taken such good care of me in the last few weeks. Humbled and grateful," he further said.
Sanjay Dutt was reportedly diagnosed with lung cancer in August 2020. The 'Khalnayak' star's wife Maanayata Dutt flew from Dubai to Mumbai after he was hospitalized at Lilavati hospital. She had requested the fans to not speculate about the actor's health and pray for him.
On the professional front, Sanjay Dutt will soon resume the shooting of 'KGF: Chapter 2'. The talented actor has several exciting projects in his kitty including 'Bhuj: The Pride Of India', 'Shamshera' and 'Prithviraj'.
