New Delhi: Bollywood actor Sanjay Dutt was admitted to Mumbai’s Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani hospital for his cancer treatment. The ‘Khalnayak’ actor has been reportedly diagnosed with stage-four lung cancer. Earlier in the day, Sanjay was spotted outside his residence while he was heading to the hospital for some medical tests. His wife Maanayata Dutt had issued a statement in which she asked the fans to ‘stop speculating about Sanjay’s stage of illness’. She also revealed that the ‘Kalank’ actor’s preliminary treatment will take place in Mumbai and the family will decide the travel plans depending on the COVID-19 situation.

According to a report in a leading daily, Sanjay Dutt has got a five-year US visa on medical grounds and will fly to New York along with his wife Maanayata and sister Priya Dutt.

The report further said that one of Sanjay’s close friends helped him procure a five-year US visa on medical grounds.

"Sanju had applied for the visa as soon as he learnt of the diagnosis. However, initially, it wasn't easy to get the clearance since the actor was among those acquitted in the 1993 Bombay blasts. Fortunately, one of his close friends helped the actor secure a five-year visa on medical grounds. He is expected to fly to New York with Maanayata and Priya, where he will pursue treatment at the Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Centre," a source told Mid-Day.

Sanjay Dutt will undergo treatment at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Centre, the same hospital where his mother Nargis Dutt was admitted for her treatment. The veteran actress was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer.

“The celebrations aren't as huge as they used to be every year but the faith in Bappa remains the same. I wish that this auspicious festival removes all the obstacles from our lives and bless us all with health and happiness. Ganpati Bappa Moryaa,” the ‘Parineeta’ actor wrote while sharing the photo on Instagram.

Maanayata Dutt and her two kids, Iqra and Shahraan, returned to Mumbai from Dubai after Sanjay was admitted to the hospital. She was stuck in Dubai due to the COVID-19 crisis and returned in a special flight to support her husband during the tough times.
