New Delhi: Bollywood actor Sanjay Dutt was admitted to Mumbai Lilavati hospital on Saturday (August 8) after he complained of breathing problems and chest discomfort. The ‘Kalank’ actor underwent a COVID-19 test and the results came out as negative. He was kept under medical supervision in the non-COVID ward in the hospital. Sanjay, last seen in ‘Panipat’, returned to his home after getting discharged on Monday (August 10).

If a recent report in Film Companion is to be believed, Sanjay Dutt has been diagnosed with lung cancer and he will soon fly to the US for medical treatment. Film critic and trade analyst Komal Nahta took to Twitter to share the news with fans.

“Sanjay Dutt diagnosed with lung cancer. Let’s pray for his speedy recovery,” Nahta wrote on the micro-blogging site.



Adhyayan Summan prayed for Sanjay Dutt's speedy recovery. He tweeted, "Sanju sir diagnosed with lung cancer :( #sanjaydutt get well soon sir this year why u doing this ?"



"Get well soon sir," Neha Dhupia wrote.



Earlier in the day, Sanjay Dutt posted a note on social media and informed his fans that he is taking a short break from work due to medical treatment. The ‘Lage Raho Munna Bhai’ actor urged the fans to not speculate.

“Hi friends, I am taking a short break from work for some medical treatment. My family and friends are with me and I urge my well wishers not to worry or unnecessarily speculate. With your love and good wishes, I will be back soon!,” Dutt said in a statement.



On the professional front, Sanjay Dutt will be next seen in 'Sadak 2'. The film co-starring Alia Bhatt, Aditya Roy Kapur and Pooja Bhatt will premiere directly on Disney+ Hotstar on August 28, 2020. The makers recently unveiled Sanjay's character poster from the movie. The Mahesh Bhatt directorial is the sequel of 'Sadak', which starred Sanjay Dutt and Pooja Bhatt.



Sanjay Dutt's wife Maanayata Dutt and two kids are currently out of the country. They are stuck in Dubai due to the COVID-19 crisis.
