Sandalwood Drug Scam: After Raiding Vivek Oberoi’s Mumbai Home, Crime Branch Serves Notice To His Wife Priyanka Alva

New Delhi: On October 15, the Bengaluru Police raided Vivek Oberoi’s residence in Mumbai in search of his brother-in-law Aditya Alva. A lookout notice was recently issued against Aditya in connection with the drug scandal in the Kannada film industry. Apart from being the ‘Road’ actor’s brother-in-law, the accused is also the son of late minister Jeevaraj Alva. ALSO READ| Sandalwood Drug Case: Bengaluru Police Raids Vivek Oberoi's Mumbai Home In Search Of Aditya Alva In the latest development, Vivek Oberoi’s wife Priyanka Alva Oberoi has been reportedly served a notice by the City Crime Branch Bengaluru over links with brother Aditya Alva in connection with the Sandalwood drug scam. A report of ANI claims, “City Crime Branch Bengaluru serves notice to Priyanka Alva Oberoi over links with brother Adithya Alva in connection with Sandalwood drug case. #Karnataka CCB raided actor Vivek Oberoi's Mumbai residence in search of his relative Aditya Alva in connection with the case y'day.”
The CCB raided Vivek Oberoi’s residence in search of Aditya who has been absconding for the past one month since the police launched a crackdown against drug peddlers, suppliers and rave party organisers. A top police officer told PTI, “Vivek Oberoi is his relative and we got some information that Alva is there. So a court warrant was obtained and the Central Crime Branch team has gone to his house in Mumbai.” Not only this, last month, the Karnataka City Crime Branch also raided a property owned by Aditya Alva’s mother Nandini Alva. So far, over 15 people have been arrested in the alleged drugs case so far including Kannada film actresses Ragini Dwivedi, Sanjjanaa Galrani, rave party organiser Viren Khanna, realtor Rahul Thonse, and a few Nigerians. The police have also questioned Ricky Rai, the son of former underworld don-turned-social activist Muthappa Rai, a day after raiding his residence in Hebbal, North Bengaluru. The police believed that Ricky had given shelter to Aditya Alva and hence they summoned him to come in terms with the whereabouts of the accused. The police also suspect Ricky Rai of being in touch with some of the accused in the sandalwood drug scam.
