Salman Khan Applies For Weapon License For Self-Protection After Receiving Threat Letter

Salman arrived at the Mumbai police headquarters, located opposite Crawford Market, in his car around 4 pm and met Phansalkar.

Bollywood actor Salman Khan on Friday applied for a weapon license for self-protection at Mumbai Police Commissioner Vivek Phansalkar after he met the top cop earliler in the day. According to repors, Salman arrived at the Mumbai police headquarters, located opposite Crawford Market, in his car around 4 pm and met Phansalkar.

It is being reported that Salman has applied for a weapon license after he and his father Salim Khan recieved a threat letter last month that claiming that the father-son duo would meet the fate of Punjabi singer Sidhu Moosewala, who was killed in May.

Meanwhile, officials in Mumbai Police told news agency PTI that Salman's visit was just a courtesy visit and had nothing to do with any case. The actor also met with Joint Commissioner of Police (Law and Order) Vishwas Nangre Patil at the Mumbai police headquarters.

It is also being reported that the Commissioner of Police enquired from the actor as to what kind of threats he had received after which he informed Khan about his security.

Salman Khan's lawyer Hastimal Saraswat had last month claimed that he had also received anonymous death threats through letters reading "enemy's friend is enemy", news agency IANS had reported. As per the report, Saraswat had filed a complaint at Jodhpur Police Station alleging that he received letters saying "will do something like Moose Wala".

Bishnoi, who is currently being questioned in connection with the assasination of Sidhu Moose Wala, reportedly last week admitted that he wanted to kill Salman Khan in 2018 over the blackbuck poaching case.
