As this year's Diwali box office battle shapes up between ‘Singham Again’ and ‘Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3’, it seems the former has gained a significant edge over the Kartik Aaryan-starrer. The highly anticipated ‘Singham Again’, helmed by Rohit Shetty, is already star-studded with a cast portraying supercops, and now there's news of an exciting new addition—Bollywood megastar Salman Khan is set to make a special appearance as his iconic character Chulbul Pandey.
Salman Khan's cameo in Singham 3
While Chulbul Pandey isn’t part of Rohit Shetty's established cop universe, the character, introduced in ‘Dabangg’ and known for his flamboyant style and heart-of-gold persona, has become a beloved figure in Hindi cinema. Originally directed by Abhinav Kashyap, the Dabangg franchise saw Salman return as the fearless yet endearing cop in ‘Dabangg 2’ and ‘Dabangg 3’, though Abhinav Kashyap exited the series after the first installment.
The crossover of Chulbul Pandey into the Singham universe is set to make cinematic history as fans will finally get to see two iconic reel cops, Bajirao Singham (played by Ajay Devgn) and Chulbul Pandey, sharing the screen for the first time.
Rohit Shetty, known for his larger-than-life action sequences and gripping storytelling, has built a loyal fanbase with his cop universe films. The addition of Salman Khan to ‘Singham Again’ is bound to increase the excitement for this Diwali release.
Singham 3 has an ensemble cast featuring Ajay Devgn, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Deepika Padukone, Tiger Shroff, Arjun Kapoor, Akshay Kumar and Ranveer Singh.
Threats to Salman Khan
Meanwhile, Salman Khan has maintained a relatively low profile following the tragic death of his close friend and politician Baba Siddique. Lawrence Bishnoi gang claimed to be behind Siddique’s assassination.
Last week the superstar also got a threat with a ransom demand of Rs 5 crore. The message was delivered to the Mumbai Traffic Police control room's WhatsApp number. The sender has now apologised, saying the message was sent by mistake.
